The shroom lamp is meant to resemble a magical forest with an interactive element. The wooden base is laser cut in an intricate butterfly design and the title of the lamp. In the middle are 3D printed mushrooms. The bigger mushrooms contain two lights each. When sound is detected by the built-in sensor, the mushrooms glow, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The lamp invokes a sense of wonder and imagination, allowing you to bring a touch of the fantastical into your home. It is a perfect bookshelf nook. The purpose of this lamp is to make it easy for one to get in and out of bed with the lights on. It makes it easier to turn the light off with a simple clap.

Originally, my lamp was meant to have a circular 3D printed base, however I then realized it would be hard to incorporate the Arduino and add in 2D laser cut elements, so I made my base wooden and hexagonal. I was unsatisfied with that look too, so I then changed it to a cubed base, with acrylic walls encompassing three sides of the box. When I started I decided I wanted a temperature sensor, however when I talked to Zayn, I realised the temperature sensor did not actually read temperature. Pretty early on, I exchanged the sensor for a sound sensor and incorporated it into my box. The mushrooms were 3D printed and hand-painted and then most everything else in the middle was bought.
